Kids on Long Island are being warned to be on the lookout for ticks this summer.
Suffolk County officials announced the launch of a countywide Tick Bite Prevention Education Campaign today at Blydenburgh County Park in Smithtown.
County Executive Steve Bellone says the program provides all the information needed to stay safe and healthy, while enjoying the outdoors.

"It is going to provide critical information to youth and it is essential to learning how to avoid tick-borne illnesses as the summer season begins,” says Bellone.
