Bridgeport police renewed their call Thursday for the public's help solving the city's earliest homicide of 2018.
Jawuan Green, 21, was outside the Snack Shop at Newfield Avenue and Revere Street in January when gunfire ended his life.
Police say they are aware of multiple witnesses who saw the shooting and are capable of identifying the gunman -- but are too afraid to come forward.
"I'm appealing to the public to please, please point us in the right direction," says Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez. "Call the police department. You're not a snitch. You're a good person."
The city police department says it will deploy plainclothes officers and a mobile command center to the intersection next week to reinvestigate the homicide.
Witnesses who wish to remain anonymous can dial the department's tip line at 203-576-TIPS.
