CLAREMONT PARK -

Thousands of Muslim worshipers gathered in the Bronx Friday to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

The holiday marks the end of Ramadan when Muslims fast.

Eid al-Fitr translates to the 'feast of the breaking of the fast'

Muslims have gathered at Claremont Park to celebrate Eid al-Fitr for nearly a decade, some coming from far away for the festivities.

The celebration offered prayers, lectures, games and food.

About 5,000 people were expected to attend the feast throughout the day.
