Long Island Reps. Tom Suozzi and Kathleen Rice are returning from their visit to El Paso, Texas.
They met with the Border Patrol Chief and staff members Saturday.
The Democratic Congress members also toured the Tornillo Detention Facility, where they spoke with children who are currently detained.
Several other politicians also visited the border this weekend.
"I'm a career prosecutor. I've visited many prisons and jails. That is a prison. You walk through the halls and the doors clank shut. And there are bars on the windows,” says Sen. Kamala Harris, Democrat of California.
Suozzi and Rice tell Newsday they also plan to tour MercyFirst Monday. That's the Syosset facility where eight of the migrant children separated from their parents are currently staying.
