Scooters will be branded with Uber logos, and users will be able to rent them through the Uber app. The move comes about a week after competitor Lyft purchased Motivate – America’s largest bike share operator.
YouTube is investing $25 million into fighting the spread of misinformation. The company will support global news organizations and improve its platform by adding verified links to breaking news stories, according to Cheddar. It will also enlist YouTube stars to teach the next generation of news consumers how to tell the difference between real and fake news.
Snapchat is reportedly working with Amazon and Shazam to turn its camera into a visual search engine. According to The Verge, users will be able to take a photo of an object or record a song, and the app will identify and link it to a third party site. If the feature goes live, it could make Snapchat a more useful tool for users, and give it an edge over Instagram.
