The families of New Jersey’s fallen police officers attended “Survivors Day” at a Seaside Heights water park.
The event is has been held every year for the last 11 years as a day for the families to get together to bond. It is a free day at the Breakwater Beach Waterpark.
“These families have been through a lot, the tragic loss of their loved ones,” said Col. Patrick Callahan of the New Jersey State Police. “It is not a memorial. It is a day for fellowship, connectivity, to get together and to be given the permission to have a good time.”
The event is sponsored by the Storino family, along with the New Jersey chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors.
