Disabled woman thanks News 12, anonymous donor for new wheelchair

A News 12 Connecticut viewer has helped a disabled Bridgeport woman regain her independence.
As News 12 has reported, Jessica Gonzalez had been unable to get to her regular medical appointments after her old wheelchair broke a few months ago. The single mother had said that her insurance company would not pay for an electric wheelchair even though she doesn't have the strength to get far in a manual one.
After seeing the story, a viewer, who asked to remain anonymous, donated a lightly used motorized wheelchair to Gonzalez.
Gonzalez says she is very grateful for the good deed that came out of telling her story.
"I want to say thank you to News 12 for getting my story out there so these beautiful people out everywhere can help me out," Gonzalez said. "Very, very, very happy that I can finally leave the house and go to my appointments."
