Four Connecticut-bound Army helicopters were forced to make an emergency landing Monday.
The helicopters were heading to their home base in Hartford when they were hit by strong storms and heavy downpours.
The Chinook helicopters were forced to land in three different locations near St. Louis, Missouri.
Luke Taytro, a business owner who witnessed the landing, said, “I turned around and I just saw the helicopter coming down right here in the rain so it was just a cloudy mess and it just started landing.  I thought it was an invasion, thought the Russians were finally coming, like 'Red Dawn,' but it just landed right there, shook everything."
Officials say the helicopters should be back in the air this morning.
