5 heroes honored at Brooklyn Borough Hall
Five New Yorkers were hailed as heroes at Borough Hall Thursday for giving back to their local community.
Among the heroes were NYPD Special Victims Detective Kimberly Marshall. She helped arrest an 18-year-old who allegedly raped an 11-year-old back in August.
Two teachers were honored -- Bijoun Jordan, who raised thousands of dollars for his Brownsville students to travel to Spain and Japan, and Garry Danilov, who rescued victims in a car accident on his way to his children's birthday party.
Borough President Eric Adams handed out awards to all five honorees. The group hopes they continue to inspire others and make their community a better place.
