#N12BX: Scrabble adds 'OK,' 'ew'

Iconic wordsmithing game Scrabble has added 300 new words to its dictionary.
Merriam-Webster released the sixth edition of "The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary" early Monday. Among more than 300 additions are OK and ew. Other new words include bizjet, yowza and zen. There's another special new entry because it involves use of a q without a u. The word is qapik, a monetary unit in Azerbaijan.
Lexicographer Peter Sokolowski, editor at large for Merriam-Webster, says Scrabble players have been waiting years for OK. His personal favorite, and not because of its Scrabble value, is macaron. Sokolowski just likes its meaning: a delicate French sandwich cookie.
