Jury selection is set to begin Wednesday in the trial of a high-ranking NYPD official accused of sexual misconduct.
Commanding Officer Keith Walton told News 12 off camera that he's looking forward to his day in court. It was nearly two years ago when Walton was first accused of sexually abusing a female officer at his command post within the NYPD's 49th Precinct.
Walton turned down a plea deal that would leave him without a criminal record in exchange for him giving up his career with the NYPD.
Walton has been backed by several Bronx residents living in the communities where he served as commanding officer.
Walton remains on modified duty and was stripped of his badge and gun pending the outcome of the trial.
