Bronx school dives deeper into STEM with mobile labs

Girls at a Bronx elementary school say they're excited to dive into STEM projects with two new mobile labs in their classrooms.
Educators at Girls Prep Bronx Elementary School say the lab will prepare young girls for jobs in science, technology and math.
Currently, only 24 percent of STEM jobs are filled by women, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The multifunctional lab has digital microscopes and sensors that can detect a pulse and more.
The girls also have access to a 3D printer.
The labs were funded by Councilman Rafael Salamanca.
The school also says it has relationships with colleges in New York and Maryland, connecting them with women in the STEM field.
