Freeport residents raise money for 9-year-old with rare cancer

The Freeport community came out in full force Tuesday night to support a 9-year-old girl battling a rare form of cancer.
Last month, a tumor was discovered in the brain of Taliyah Baptiste. She was diagnosed with a rare, inoperable form of cancer.
Dozens came out to raise money for the family's mounting medical bills.
It was Taliyah's first day back at school when her mother says her daughter's eyes didn't look right, and noticed she was limping.
Many of Taliyah's friends and neighbors came with messages of loves and hope at the event.
Taliyah's mom says her daughter is scheduled to wrap up radiation next week. She says they are hoping she is a candidate for one or more clinical trials to combat the disease.
