Riverdale residents are upset with a major sinkhole at Oxford Avenue and West 236th Street.
After a water main break on Oct. 1, neighbors say there were a number of sinkholes in the area. They say the largest forced a two-way intersection to be blocked off.
Cars, buses and firetrucks all had to navigate around the bumps and cones for the last week.
Neighbors say the situation isn't getting solved in a timely manner.
"The road is caving in--it has to be fixed every couple days," said Corey Ringer. "They're just patching it up, they're not actually fixing it."
The Department of Transportation says it is usually the Department of Environmental Protection that responds to sinkholes.
Ringer says he spoke with a DOT crewmember last week. They said it was due to the water main break and they are trying to fix it.
News 12 reached out to the DEP and the DOT late Wednesday afternoon, but has not heard back.
