One by one, all 14 men accused in the brutal slaying of 15-year-old Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz appeared before a Bronx judge on Thursday.
Each suspect is charged with murder and other offenses.
Escorted by police, Junior's mother spoke to the dozens of supporters outside the Bronx Hall of Justice, thanking them for their presence and their prayers.
The supporters marched from the courthouse on East 161st Street to the Belmont bodega outside of which Junior was stabbed to death.
Junior's brother says seeing each of the suspects was difficult for his family. During the proceedings, there were moments of outburst from family members and supporters of Junior.
Most of the defendants are due back in court Dec. 21.
