LONGWOOD -

Police say a man is in the hospital after multiple shots were fired outside a Longwood bodega Friday night.

The shooting happened on the corner of East 163rd and Kelly streets where police say a 27-year-old man was shot at around 9 p.m.

The suspect fired several rounds in front of a group of people, striking the victim. Police say the victim did not know the suspect.

One neighbor says it sounded like 10 gunshots were fired. She says 8-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son were screaming and ducking on the floor, then looked out the window to see someone laying on the ground.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to be fine.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
