A 30-year-old woman was killed after a major accident in Port Morris Saturday morning.
The incident happened on the Major Deegan Expressway going southbound near the RFK Bridge between a van and a tractor-trailer.
Police say the woman driving the van rear-ended the tractor-trailer. They say it's not clear at this time if the tractor-trailer was at a dead hault or if it was moving and then came to a stop.
Authorities say the accident injured three passengers in the van.
They say one woman remains in critical condition and two men are stable at Lincoln Hospital.
Police shut down the expressway as the NYPD Collision Investigation Squad investigated.
Police say they're trying to determine whether or not intoxication or speed were factors. They say that there doesn't appear to be any criminality and that the sun glare may have played a role.
They say the driver of the tractor-trailer remained on scene and was also taken to Lincoln Hospital for observation.
Police say the victim's name will be released once the family is notified.
