A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday to launch the R.A.I.N. Findlay House Senior Program in Concourse Village.
The popular program is for residents 60 years and older. There will be numerous recreational activities and exercise classes as well as a meal program Monday through Friday. There will also be group trips and celebrations to promote socialization and health management workshops.
The program is part of a collaboration between R.A.I.N. and the city's Department for the Aging.
R.A.I.N. officials say the program was a necessity in the community.
"They feel that they have been in a desert of services," says Dr. Anderson Torres, the CEO of R.A.I.N.  "So for us to have a center where they can secure a meal, participate in activities and be more engaged, it's something that is welcomed in their own backyard."
This is R.A.I.N.'s 13th senior program.
