Police: Man wanted for raping, robbing woman in Prospect Park South

A man is accused of raping a woman just outside Prospect Park South.
Police say the woman was walking along Parkside Avenue around 4 a.m. Sunday when a man came up behind her and put her in a chokehold, eventually dragging her behind a bench and raping her.
Overnight, police released surveillance video of the man they believe is responsible.
Police say when he put her in the chokehold he told her he had a knife and a gun and would hurt her if she didn't go with him. Investigators say he first pushed her against a van and tried to sexually assault her but when that didn't work he dragged her behind the bench and raped her.
Police say he then broke the window of a parked white Ford Econoline van with a green and white logo on its side, forced her inside and tried to sexually assault her again.
When he was unable to, investigators say he took $10 from her purse told her to get out of the van.
Police say he was last seen running eastbound on Parkside Avenue.
News 12 is told he is between 25 and 35 years old, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, and was wearing a dark colored hooded bubble coat, a dark-colored knitted cap, dark pants and white sneakers.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
