THE BRONX -

A man is recovering after being stabbed during a robbery in the Bronx.

Police say the suspect was caught on video as he approached the victim sleeping in his car parked on Loring Place North last month.

The suspect then pulled a knife and got into the car, they say.

News 12 is told he made the victim drive, but after going a short distance, police say the driver exited the car without turning the engine off. The car then crashed into a parked car.  That’s when the suspect got out and stabbed the victim multiple times, police say.

News 12 is told he got away with the victim's wallet and jewelry valued at $450.

The victim is expected to be OK.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
