Family of elderly McDonald’s assault victim wants justice

A Bronx family wants justice after their elderly relative was attacked inside a McDonald’s.
Gladys Marti, 87, died on Friday, just seven days after she was released from the hospital.
The assault happened back in September. Officials say Marti was inside the restaurant on 149th Street when a stranger grabbed her by the arm and slammed her to the ground.
First responders rushed Marti to the hospital. She suffered a fractured pelvis and arm.
Her family says she was in the hospital for two and a half months. They say the stranger who attacked Marti caused her pain that she was never able to recover from, and she was depressed because of that pain.
It is not clear if injuries from the attack contributed to her death, but Marti's family is asking anyone with information about the suspect to call police.
Police have released surveillance video that shows the suspect.
