42nd Precinct decks its halls for Christmas

One Bronx police precinct is decking its halls for the holiday season.
The 42nd Precinct posted a video to Twitter Thursday showing Mrs. Claus inspecting the Christmas displays.
The displays are inside 14 old jail cells, but you don't have to be on the NYPD's naughty list to check them out.
The commanding officer says this was the first year the precinct has done decorations like this for Christmas. They have only done Halloween haunted houses in the past.
Neighborhood Coordination Officer Erica Bukowiecki spent six months planning the display, and it took six more weeks to decorate.
Different officers and community partners adopted each cell to decorate. There is a replica of the 42nd Precinct, a 99-cent store and a candyland paradise created by MTA police.
The winter wonderland display will be open to the public beginning on Dec. 17. Santa will visit on Dec. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and he is going to bring gifts! All children 12 and under will receive a gift, and adults must be accompanied with a child.
