Police: Woman raped inside Pelham Parkway apartment

Police have released a sketch of a man accused of raping a woman inside of her Pelham Parkway apartment.

Officials say the suspect attacked the woman, who's in her 40s, around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday near Cruger Avenue and Maran Place.

Police say the suspect entered the apartment building through an open door.

The man is described as having brown eyes, a thin build and between 5-foot-10 inches to 6-foot-2 inches tall.

News 12 is told the woman has three children and lives with them along with her husband and mother.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for bruising to her face, neck and back.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
