A man attempted to sexually assault a 26-year-old woman inside her Eastchester apartment, police say.

Authorities say the alleged intruder entered the victim's apartment through an unlocked door around 3:30 p.m. Sunday near the corner of Light Street and Rombouts Avenue.

The suspect was scared off after the woman's boyfriend came home, according to investigators.

The incident has many Bronx residents in the area worried.

"You have to watch yourself and I'm always with someone if I go out late," one woman said. "You have to be cautious of your surroundings."

Nothing was stolen from the apartment, and police tell News 12 there were no reported injuries.

Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect to contact them so they can get him off the streets.
