Police respond to armed robberies in Baldwin, Franklin Square

Two armed robberies were reported in Nassau County in the span of several hours on Friday.

Two armed robberies were reported in Nassau County in the span of several hours on Friday, but police do not believe the cases are connected.
In one of the incidents, police say two men were robbed at gunpoint in their Baldwin driveway around 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Police say the victims were getting out of their car on Lydia Place when one man was ordered to the ground. The other 18-year-old victim was held at gunpoint and robbed of a watch, necklace and glasses.
About five hours later, investigators say two men robbed a Franklin Square home at gunpoint.
News 12 is told the suspects confronted a Madison Avenue homeowner with a crow bar and a handgun. They then demanded that he open a safe.
Those suspects got away with cash and cellphones.
Police say they do not believe the robberies are connected.
