One person has died and two others are in serious condition in an apparent hammer attack at a restaurant in Sheepshead Bay, police say.
The suspect struck the male victims just before 5:30 p.m. at the Seaport Buffet on Emmoms Avenue and then fled the location, according to police.
Police say the victims included the restaurant owner, manager and an employee.
All three victims were taken to Lutheran Hospital, where one of them was pronounced dead.
One witness who did not want to appear on camera was left shaken by the incident.
"He has a hammer and he hit him again on the head," she says. "I'm 70 years old and I never saw this before, never."
News 12 is told one person of interest is in custody, but has not yet been charged. That person is now undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.
It is not clear if there is prior history between the suspect and victims or if it was a random attack.
