Parents protest BOE's cancellation of Bridgeport school community forums
Parents in Bridgeport are protesting the Board of Education's decision to abruptly end school community forums in the district.
A group of parents protested outside of Luis Munoz Marin School Wednesday night demanding the Board of Education continue community forums.
They held signs that read "Include parents voices" and "Bridgeport students deserve better."
Parents say the forums were canceled because they were getting "too political."
Parents found out Wednesday that the board had voted in favor to cancel the forums.
According to the board of education's website, a special meeting was held on February 5, although no agenda or minutes were provided to the public.
Parents argue the forums are the only way to voice their concerns about their schools getting the proper resources.
News 12 has reached out to the board of education and is waiting to hear back.
