It was a difficult commute for some L train riders Wednesday after one of the trains was vandalized.
NYC Transit officials removed the 6:15 a.m. Canarsie-bound L train from service because of racist graffiti that was discovered.
Officials tweeted the information, telling commuters swastikas were found on the train. Police were notified about the incident.
Police released a statement saying that the citywide vandals taskforce responded and is currently investigating the criminal mischief. Police say there were also stickers with small swastikas on the train.
News 12 reached out to the MTA. They tell News 12 that two unauthorized decals were found this morning. They went on to say in part, "Due to their highly sensitive nature, standard procedure was followed and the train was taken out of service for an investigation and necessary cleanup work in order to provide a safe and welcoming environment for our customers."
