Cardi B, Meek Mill address death of inmate at upstate correctional facility on social media
The death of an inmate at Greene Correctional Facility in upstate New York is getting national attention.
Celebrities and local leaders calling for an investigation into what happened to Anthony Myrie on Monday.
Officials say Myrie was serving a seven-year sentence after being convicted of an attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance. 
According to his family's social media and GoFundMe page, there are many questions about how he died in the facility.
Celebrities such as Cardi B have voiced their opinion on his death on social media.
Cardi B posted on Instagram, "Green Correctional Facility you are not getting away with this one!! I remember when I went to visit someone in Green and I couldn't stop crying cause the C.O. beat their face up so bad...boy had a black eye for months."
She went on to say, "if you are from New York and ya have loved ones incarcerated, ya know about greens and the mistreatments."
Brooklyn state Sen. Zellnor Myrie tweeted Cardi B, thanking her and rapper Meek Mill for bringing awareness to the incident.
Myrie tweeted, “we will not rest until we get answers. This facility has a history like many other correctional facilities of abuse and we demand a full accounting of his death."
