The event held at Penfield Beach in Fairfield benefited the Travis Manion Foundation.
Lt. Travis Manion was killed in Iraq in 2007. He was awarded the Silver Star and Bronze Star with Valor. According to its website, the foundation helps empowers veterans and families of fallen heroes to develop character in future generations.
The water was a chilly 40 degrees when the ladies ran in, but they say it's a lot warmer than years past.
The team that raised the most money will get their equipment donated by Wealth Continuum Group. A winner is expected to be declared on Tuesday.
