Questions still brewing about Dunkin’ opening NJ Transit station
Questions from rail commuters in Mercer County continue after they were told it's up to Dunkin' Donuts employees to unlock the doors at the Hamilton train station each morning.
When riders couldn't access the station lobby Thursday morning, NJ Transit told them it's because a Dunkin' employee showed up late.
Someone then tweeted about the issue, with NJ Transit replying, "Dunkin Donuts is responsible for opening the doors in the morning at the Hamilton station. NJT has spoken to the vendor multiple times."

Passengers clearly weren't happy about that; some asking why a donut shop is in charge of opening a train station. NJ Transit says that responsibility is in Dunkin's contract.
Dunkin’ Donuts released the following statement, “We are aware of the situation at the NJ Transit Hamilton train station. The Dunkin' located within the Hamilton train station opens each weekday at 4:30 a.m. As stated on NJ Transit's website, ticket office hours begin at 6 a.m. each weekday.”
