Jury selection has begun for some of the suspects in the death of Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz.

This trial is for five of the 14 suspects arrested by police.

All five suspects are charged with first-degree murder for the death of the 15-year-old Belmont teen.

Back in January, the trial had been delayed because the defense was concerned a trial so quickly after Junior's death would result in a jury decision based on revenge, rather than fairness.

A motion was made by the defense for the prosecution to turn over additional information regarding phone evidence. But prosecutor Morgan Dolan said she provided the defense access to phone information, allowing the defense access to a program to analyze texts, photos and videos the prosecution may use to prove their case.

Prospective jurors will return Tuesday as the court works on narrowing down the jury pool. A decision will be made on how Jonaiki Martinez-Estrella will be tried, either with the four other defendants, with them but with a separate jury or in a completely separate trial. Martinez-Estrella is accused of giving Junior the final blow to the neck.

There are nine other suspects who are awaiting their trial.
