The American Dream megamall project is one of New Jersey’s most infamous construction endeavors.
The multimillion-dollar project has taken over a decade to complete and has been fraught with delays. It’s gotten so bad that many New Jersey residents say that they believe that it will never open.
But there are at least two New Jersey residents who have high hopes for the megamall.
Meet “The Teterboro Couple”, Carla Collins and Aaron Mandel. They are a pair of New Jersey residents who REALLY enjoy going to the American Dream site. They make monthly videos on YouTube tracking its progress.
“It’s really beautiful. It’s going to be beautiful here in Rutherford. I mean, it’s a beautiful day in Jersey,” Aaron said in one of his videos.
The couple says that they were excited last summer when it looked as if American Dream would open by March. And then disappointment this winter when the opening was pushed back.
But the couple is optimistic that American Dream will open this summer.
“I’m just wondering if part of the skepticism is that we’re just giving them the old-fashioned New Jersey welcome, which is not a welcome at all,” Aaron says. “If all goes according to plan, this will be the best thing.”
American Dream will be a mixed retail/entertainment location with an amusement park, ski slope and various retail spaces.
