Officials: 6-year-old recovering following fall from third floor

KINGSBRIDGE HEIGHTS -

A 6-year-old boy fell out of a third floor window in Kingsbridge Heights Friday night and is expected to be OK.

Neighbors tell News 12 the child land on a mulchy area at around 7 p.m.

Police tell News 12 the parents of that boy were trying to install an air conditioning unit when he fell out.

Neighbors in the building on Bailey Avenue near West 213st Street say that they feel sorry for the family.

"Oh my -- I can't believe this is happening to him," said Rafael Valera says of the boys father. "He's a very good man, he's a good guy and they're a good family, very close."

Police tell News 12 they do not believe any criminality was involved.
