Some Throgs Neck residents are fighting a possible outpatient center they say is coming to Bruckner Boulevard.

The New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse told News 12 it has no record of a request being made for the space to be turned into an outpatient center capable of housing people and administering drugs like methadone.

But the people that live in the area say a representative for Miracle City LLC told them at a recent community board hearing that they've started to renovate the building. This is while looking to secure an "822" license that would allow it to provide holistic outpatient care.

Parents in the area say they understand the need to help others, but want it somewhere else.

The state told News 12 in a statement that if and when it receives a license request from Miracle City, it will work "with local governments and community organizations when citing facilities, including a requirement that providers notify the local community board, whose input is taken into consideration."

The Miracle City website does list Bruckner Boulevard as one of its locations. It says the goal is to address mental health and substance abuse issues in the Throgs Neck section of the Bronx.

News 12 reached out to the owner of the building and is waiting to hear back.
