NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi held its Trauma Survivors Day Tuesday, to give doctors and former patients a chance to meet and share their stories.
One of those survivors was Christopher Ramirez, a trauma survivor who was in a motorcycle crash on the Bronx River Parkway.
He says he ruptured his spleen, which caused internal bleeding and “endured a lot of pain.”
He has since recovered, and has now met the team that saved him.
“I would have never met my wife. I wouldn't have had my daughters, so everything is great right now,” he told News 12.
The staff at Jacobi told News 12 that it “is one of the best things when you get to see [survivors] come back with their families and see the joy in their faces.”
