A man and woman were robbed at gunpoint last week while waiting inside a building’s lobby in Soundview.

Police say the 23-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were in the lobby of a building on Rosedale Avenue and East 174th Street when they were approached by a man with a gun around 8 p.m.

The victims tell investigators a man approached them with a gun asking for their belongings. Police say the thief took the woman's purse, which contained $500, as well as two Apple iPhones from the man’s jacket before running out of the building.

The man wanted for questioning is believed to be in his mid-30s and was last seen wearing a blue jean vest, dark hooded sweatshirt and light blue sneakers.

Investigators tell News 12 the victims were not injured during the robbery.
