16th annual Bethpage Air Show takes to the skies over Jones Beach

The Bethpage Air Show made its thunderous return to the skies over Jones Beach on Saturday, to the delight of crowds of Long Islanders.
This weekend marks s the 16th annual show at Jones Beach State Park. The event is free, but parking is $10.
The U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team soared in for their 14th performance at the air show this year.
One of the highlights of the show is the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. For the first time ever, four female pilots will be featured in the show.
It is recommended that children 6 years old and younger wear earmuffs or earplugs due to the noises from the planes.
Backpacks and coolers are allowed, but security will be checking them at the gate.
While the planes are the main attraction, the event is also an opportunity for people to show their support for veterans.
"It's a Memorial Day event and we think of those that passed on and we support our veterans today, so it does mean a lot," says Air Force veteran Lou Pinto.
The air show will continue Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
