Police: Woman dead, man critically hurt in Bushwick stabbing

A stabbing in Bushwick Saturday night has left one woman dead and her husband in critical condition.

A stabbing in Bushwick Saturday night left one woman dead and her husband in critical condition.
Police say officers responded to a call of an assault at 66 Garden St. just before 7 p.m. When officers arrived, they say they found 71-year-old Maria Rodriguez with multiple stab wounds to her torso. Her 87-year-old husband with multiple slash and stab wounds to his chest, police say.
EMS responded and pronounced Rodriguez dead at the scene.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was transported to Bellevue Hospital.
Neighbors say the couple have a lot of family that come to visit. They also have a caretaker that is at the home often. The man is in a wheelchair.
They say the caretaker called police when no one answered the door. Neighbors say eventually, family members were able to get into the home through a window.
Police say no arrests have been made yet and they're still looking for a suspect.
