Mary Meeker has delivered her 2019 Internet Trends Report. The 333-page slideshow looks back on the important internet trends in the last year, and what they tell us about the year ahead. Meeker is known as the 'Queen of the Internet.' Among the highlights were slowed growth in e-commerce sales and increased internet ad spending. Meeker predicts that the internet will become more of a cesspool, saying getting rid of problematic content will become more difficult.
Kroger is starting to sell CBD products. The nation's largest grocery will offer lotions, balms and oils in almost 1,000 stores across the country. Kroger will hold off selling CBD-infused food, as it has not yet been approved by the FDA. Kroger joins other retailers, including Walgreens and CVS, that are adding CBD products to their shelves. This as customers hope the cannabis compound can relieve problems like anxiety and pain.
Krispy Kreme is opening a flagship store in New York. The 24-hour doughnut shop will have unique features, including a theater experience to showcase its doughnut-making process. It will offer stadium-style seating where visitors can watch the pastries pass through a glaze waterfall.
