A Crown Heights teen claims he was falsely arrested by the NYPD last week.
Nicholas Simon says he still has bruises from the incident where police allegedly put their knees on his head and back and dragged him from the ground in handcuffs.
The 17-year-old says he was on his way home after playing in the park when a group of officers came up to him and arrested him.
Surveillance video shows Simon leisurely walking and bouncing a basketball before the police car pulls over and officers jump out. There is no sound on the video and police wouldn't offer any information. But Simon says they put their knees on his back and head while arresting him.
While in the police car, Simon says police kept asking "Where is the gun?" He explained that he had no idea what they were talking about.
His mom says she never received a call of his arrest and learned of it from neighbors. Police issued a summons for disorderly conduct to the teen.
Simon has sickle cell anemia and asthma. When his mom tried to tell police at the 71st Precinct, she claims she got the cold shoulder.
The family has hired an attorney who plans to clear the charges and file a lawsuit against the NYPD. Sources tell News 12 there was an incident of shots fired nearby where four people were arrested. Simon was taken into custody but received a summons when officers determined he was not involved in the incident.
News 12 is still waiting for an official statement on Simon's arrest.
