Parents looking for activities to do with their children ahead of summer vacation might want to consider checking out the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA.

Central Connecticut Coast YMCA offers outdoor camps and swimming programs throughout the summer.

"We have a really good front desk staff that takes the time to talk to parents and say, 'What is your child interested in? What is your goal?'" says Executive Director Diana Liptak. "This time of year, we all think about water safety and when someone says, 'My child really needs to develop their swim skills,' we sent them towards half-day swim."

Teens can also sign up to become counselors in training.
