Police: 4 teens charged in fatal stabbing of man found in Melrose apartment
Police have charged four teens in connection to a deadly stabbing last Wednesday in Melrose.
The teens now face attempted murder and other charges after police say 43-year-old Dwayne Porter was stabbed to death on Morris Park Avenue.

News 12 is told when EMS arrived at the apartment where Porter lived, they found him beaten and stabbed. Police rushed him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he died from his injuries just days later.
The first 17-year-old charged in the killing has been identified as Aaron Taveras. He’s been charged with attempted murder, gang assault, assault and criminal possession of a weapon. The other 17-year-old, Norman Lodge, has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. The 16-year-old's name has not been released, but he also faces several charges.
Neighbors in the area are relieved the alleged attackers are off the streets.

"We have a day care here, we have a school right here and something like that happening and now it's scary every day you walk around and it's not safe," says Nancy Polanco, of Morris Heights.
News 12 is told Taveras and the 16-year-old charged with attempted murder were arrested on the day the murder happened.  Lodge was arrested the day the victim died.
