Bronx neighborhood wants action to remove abandoned vehicles

Posted: Updated:
THE BRONX -

Neighbors along Old Kingsbridge Road are upset about the amount of abandoned cars littering the streets in their community.

Homeowners between Prospect Avenue and Southern Boulevard say they want vehicles removed from their area.

A few vehicles were removed after News 12 reported on the story earlier this week, but residents say cars still remain.

News 12 reached out to the New York City Department of Sanitation. They say they sent officers who found a number of abandoned vehicles and put tags on them for removal.

Residents say they hope the cars are removed before their annual cookout, which takes place in a few weeks.
