Teen dies after Jet Ski collides with boat in Baldwin Harbor

A teenager is dead after her Jet Ski collided with a boat in Baldwin Harbor Sunday morning.
Police say 18-year-old Caitlin Rose McDonald was killed when the Jet Ski she was riding collided with a 35-foot Fountain motor boat on the Middle Bay waterways, southeast of Parsonage Cove.
McDonald was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Mourners were seen dropping off food to the family in the quiet Rockville Centre neighborhood where McDonald lived. An NYPD officer seen outside of the home told News 12 the family is inconsolable. It is not known how McDonald is related to the department.
Sources say McDonald was on a rented Jet Ski with a guide at the time of the crash. When News 12 arrived at LB Wake and Watersports, the gates were immediately closed and workers refused to speak. News 12 reached out to the business by phone, but the woman who answered refused to comment.
Police have not released any other details regarding the crash.
The crash is under investigation.
