Grand opening held for Van Cortlandt Library

The doors opened for the new Van Cortlandt Library Monday.
The library on Cannon Place is 5,800 square feet, nearly double the size of the old space.
Peter Pamphile, the manager of the branch, says the new space provides enough room for the various programs that run inside the library. He says the programs can be held upstairs without disturbing readers downstairs.
News 12 is told there are about 12,000 brand-new books in the library.
The spaces and programs held within the library are available for library card owners of all ages.
