The sixth annual Pros vs. Heroes charity flag football game took place Wednesday at Funtown Beach in Seaside Park.
Toms River police offices played against former NFL players. The pros haven’t won the game since 2016. Former Giants player Stephen Baker says that it may have something to do with the beach.
"It's kind of tough because the sand neutralizes our speed so everybody is almost the same,” he says.
The event was free to attend. But the money raised benefits the Toms River Police Foundation to support their local programs.
Toms River Police Chief Mitchell Little says that to date they a have raised almost $100,000.
The police officers won the game 30-29.
