Halloween association petitions to make holiday last Saturday of October
A petition is going viral after thousands expressed their wishes to officially change the date of Halloween from Oct. 31, to the last Saturday of the month.
The petition was posted on Change.org by the nonprofit Halloween & Costume Association, whose mission is to “promote and grow the safe celebration of Halloween and year-round costumed events throughout North America.”
It reads, “It's time for a Safer, Longer, Stress-Free Celebration! Let's move Halloween to the last Saturday of October!” and includes a list of statistics on why the day of the holiday should change.
The petition currently has over 70,000 signatures.
