Officials meet with commuters for annual Riders Respond Transit Tour

Local lawmakers met with commuters Wednesday to discuss issues they face on mass transit as part of the third annual Riders Respond Transit Tour.
Councilman Ydanis Rodríguez, chair of the Transportation Committee, led a team of transit advocates surveying commuters about their experience with the MTA.
They started their day at Van Cortlandt Park and rode the rails down to Chambers Street and back up to Fort Washington.
MTA President Andy Byford and local elected officials were also present at certain stops.
The goal is to address the problems everyday New Yorkers deal with on a daily basis.
The tour will continue through Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island Thursday morning.
