THE BRONX -

New York City is seeing scattered thunderstorms and heavy winds Tuesday.

News 12 meteorologists say the risk for severe weather shifted 250 miles to the south, meaning the threat for a major impact greatly diminished.

Tuesday's weather features generally damp and swampy conditions with scattered showers. Rainfall is not expected to exceed a half-inch.

For Wednesday, expect mostly cloudy skies with a chance for late-day storms. Highs will be around 81 degrees.
